Not complete blackout but darkening for sure
My son wanted black curtains. So we decided on these. Blackout was important as the sun rises on his room. These aren't total Blackout like others we've had but they definitely darken the room. And they seem to keep his room cooler than it was before.

Beautiful and they keep out the Texas heat.
We have them hanging in our bedroom in the back of our house facing west. Afternoons were very hot in that room until we put these curtains up. It has to be 20 degrees cooler in there now and weekend mornings are nice and dark.

The fabric is thin but you don't know it until open them fully and go to put them up! I thought maybe once up it would be better... I was wrong. Light filtering maybe, but that's the best I've got
