This is my first foray with LED candles, and I'm excited about the decorating possibilities. Used them for holiday decor on the mantle underneath an oil painting that shouldn't be exposed to the snuff or soot coming from real candles. The remote controller makes turning them on/off at will easy. I haven't yet owned them long enough to testify to battery life, but there's a switch on each pillar that you can turn off to preserve battery life longer term (like when going unused for over a week). Now I'm thinking of putting some pillars inside an old defunct coal burning fireplace for fire safe ambiance in the dining room.
