We live in Texas. With the harsh heat we needed something to provide shade but also wanted something that we could have a nice view of the night sky. This was perfect and at a great price! You have to find a way to secure it though. We added brackets also secured it to the concrete. We LOVE it!

Not good for rainfall

Our pergolas top railings bent and collapsed in the middle, due to rainfall and no one was at home to slide the top back. We still suspect that this would have occurred with the sliding top pushed back, being that regardless it a would hold water in the grooves.That should have been considered during manufacturing.

Love this! It has been a lifesaver! Umbrellas are the worst. This has made everything much easier this summer here in the Florida heat and I don't have to move it around all the time. The only thing is when it's very windy The shade pulls back in the wind partially. I tried to keep it closed for cover from the rain, but the slightest wind causes it to open less than halfway. I would not suggest leaving it closed during super heavy wind, or it can tear, but it's a shame there isn't someway to keep it closed during low to moderate wind Otherwise, this is fantastic. It looks great and it's very functional no more umbrellas for me.
